We've had a number of questions about linking to Govt.nz from your website, so thought we'd give you the low down, as it stands.
Our recommendations are to include the:
- All-of-Government New Zealand Government logo, or
- Te Kāwanatanga o Aotearoa logo on your home page, and link it to Govt.nz.
Why?
The reasons for this latest advice are that:
- The All-of-Government “newzealand.govt.nz” logo is being retired because the website it names no longer exists.
- Links to newzealand.govt.nz now redirect to the new Govt.nz website.
- The Web Usability Standard requires that home pages link to www.govt.nz instead of newzealand.govt.nz.
- The next version of the All-of-Government Brand Policy and Guidelines will require the use of the “New Zealand Government” and “Te Kāwanatanga o Aotearoa” logos and linking to www.govt.nz.
